Vandergrift Public Library

Computer Use

The library has three patron computers with Windows XP connected to the Internet and a dedicated computer for patrons to use in searching for materials in the library's online catalog. There is also a Hewlett Packard Laser Printer for patron use.

Patron must read and sign a computer and Internet use policy agreement before using the computer for the first time. Children under 18 must read and sign and have a parent read and sign their form. The library does not allow saving anything on the computer's hard drive. Data may be saved to 3.5" disks purchased at the library for $1.00. For security purposes, disks cannot be brought in from outside. Disks must be left with the librarian or, if taken from the library, they cannot be brought back. Below are listed ways that patrons may use the computer.

Internet

The library computer allows users to use the Internet to access the World Wide Web. The browser is Internet Explorer. Printed output is 10 cents per sheet.

Microsoft Word

Microsoft Word may be used for word processing. Printed output may be made to the laser printer at 10 cents per sheet.
